We're two Southern ladies, Laurel and Harlee, who enjoy the cinema, whether it's an adaptation of a Tennessee Williams play or the simplicity of seeing Tyler Perry in a dress. We started this festival to help filmmakers feel better about themselves by offering hugs and pecan pie.

We've been to a few film festivals in our time and appreciate the work that goes into a successful event. We also know that it's essential to nuture filmmakers at any stage of their development. So we like to offer additional opportunities for artists outside of movie making with bakeoffs, and three-legged races.
